Reports: 15. Height: Medium. Garden: 6.8​  Exhibition: 5.3. Health: 6.7 (good). ​Fragrance: 5.8 (moderate). A good garden rose with good health except for some powdery mildew, blackspot and rust in humid environments. Blooms have an unusual but attractive lavender colour with a moderate fragrance. Sometimes the blooms can be too heavy for the stem.

'Antique Affair' (Mattfair); here is something different, I was never sure whether I like it or not, but top marks for novelty. The lilac to strong pink with white blending flowers changed as it aged and varied through the seasons. Generally healthy with a bushy habit and quite free flowering. different!

Antique Affair Mattfair(P)
Over 50 tightly packed stiff petals unfold slowly from the pointed buds. At first showing a perfect, high centred hybrid tea shape that develops into a full antique rosette shaped bloom. The colour is a white overflown with a light touch of magenta deepening at the edges, finally revealing a purple magenta in the centre of the blooms. The blooms exude a delicious strong scent. These smallish flowers appear mostly on candelabra type stems and the medium high bushes compete easily with the floribundas or as a foreground plantings. It definitely will attract attention growing in a pot or planted in a prominent spot.
