It looks like it wants to be a medium-size well behaved shrub. It flowers abundantly and frequently, in flushes. Flowers are huge, with many petals and nicely coloured (cerise red in cool weather, deep pink in the heat). Flower shape is similar to damask perpetuals, but with thick petals as an hybrid tea (and therefore they withstand wet weather and the heat quite nicely); in the heat blooms open flatter, often with a button eye. It keeps producing blloms through december here, with night temperatures as low as -5°C, even though in these conditions they often fail to open and they remain frozen on the plant for weeks. Due to its petals substance, its blooms are not richly scented, but when they're warmed by the sun they have a nice fruity fragrance, not strong but clearly there. When cut, its blooms last longer than the average Austin (about three days), and they develop a really strong fragrance (way stronger than on the plant). Foliage is nice, in my opinion, matte, veiny and dark green as the old gallicas. It is quite healthy and disease resistance, basically no blackspot in my no-spray garden (and we do get blackspot here).
