Introduced in Australia by Heyne's Nurseries Pty. Ltd. in 1900 as 'Bon Silène'.

Bloom:
Red, lighter shading.  Cherry-red, shaded blush..  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 4".  Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, ruffled bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Pointed, ovoid buds.  
Habit:
3 to 5 leaflets.  

Height: 3' to 6' (90 to 185cm).  Width: 3' to 8' (90 to 245cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 10b.
