I think Velvet Orange is registered as a floribunda, isn't it?

'Orange Velvet' 2011 is registered as a floribunda.
This 'Velvet Orange' 2010 is patented as a hybrid tea.
Same breeder.

I'll betcha they are the same rose -- just careless bookkeeping got the order of the words wrong on the other one.

Certainly on the cards. But only the breeder can tell us that. Mr. Coiner.....?

They are the same rose. I will post pictures of mine. They should be under the same name on HMF ---- especially since Kathy Strong and I are the only ones listing it here.

'Velvet Orange' is patented as a Hybrid Tea by Coiner (2010). 'Orange Velvet' is a climber by Williams (1986)

I bought my COINER Orange Velvet at OSH along with the other COINER roses that they were selling. I took the info on my marker from the tag. If you look at HMF it lists both roses under Orange Velvet. Check the picture that I just put out here on HMF. Orange Velvet and Velvet Orange are the same COINER rose. They should be listed as AKA's.

We have merged the two Coiner listings. The Registration listing of 'Orange Velvet' seems to have multiple differences to the Patent: Floribunda instead of Hybrid Tea, semi-double instead of full (25-33 petals), no fragrance instead of mild, glossy foliage instead of matte. Can you check your plant for these characters?
