It doesn't like to be grown in containers. The original plant came up in Santa Cruz, CA in Sept. 2005. When one was planted in San Jose, it grew vigorously, putting out numerous canes in all directions. It performs best if canes are kept about knee-high, and low-growing ones are cut short to encourage upright growth.

Perhaps we should put the owner of the Santa Cruz garden in as breeder?

It was my garden, but it was a chance bird-dropped seedling.

Noted. (Those birdies know what they are doing - their breeding efforts beat mine every time.)

It is very pretty. I like the healthy foliage and the color variations among the flowers. Any chance of this finding its' way into commerce?

One will be in the Calif. Coastal Rose Society auction in October. The Heritage Rose Garden can supply cuttings to any nurseries that want to carry it.
