This one was stingy the first year, but has absolutely exploded this second year. Same prolific number of very large blooms as Its parent Pope John Paul II, Blooms are more ruffle and not as bulbous as PJP, both of which are good improvements, in my view.

Two listings for the same rose 2.83561 2.83561.1 Not sure how your filing system works..... just the word "The" differing in the name, same rose.

Yes, HMF provides for recording multiple names for the same rose. Often a rose is known by different names around the world or even slight variations locally. Identifying which variant is the "official" or "correct" name can be problematic so HMF provides this cross referencing feature.

Thank you for that - I do see that the numbers are similar, with an additional .1 Not to mention many roses that are different have the same names, and of course some roses have a bunch of different names in different countries! I don't envy you your job, but you should know how much this website is appreciated! John

Thank you John,
Yes, it can get complicated at times. Different roses with the same name are listed with the class, breeder and year bred suffix (as much as is known) to distinguish them.
Our job is to (initially) build this globally accessible, mutable resource and its continued maintenance and enhancement.
Your job, the rose/peony/clematis community, has always been to share your knowledge/expertise and experience with the HMF community, be that at a plant, personal garden or public garden/nursery/organization level.
