Unusually intense colour at the end (I hope) of a prolonged La Nina winter and in the midst of the 50-year floods. Zone 9b. Vigorous growth.

It's been suggested that some nurseries grew their understocks from seed: there is a yellow form of R indica major at Rookwood necropolis, but it is much less convincingly yellow when grown elsewhere. The single form at Rookwood is unstable; cuttings grown from it range from single to the usual form. Thelangerin Mauve can be bought from the Friends of Bishop's Lodge. Tempting to try breeding from it.
