Class: Hybrid Bourbon, Hybrid China.
Bloom: Crimson or cerise, purple shading.  Large, very double, cupped bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  Leafy sepals, ovoid buds.
Habit: Armed with thorns / prickles, upright.  Large, dark green foliage.

Patents: Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Parentage: If you know the parentage of this rose, or other details, please contact us.
Notes: The attribution of a Gallica to Parmentier is probably due to a confusion with his rose, 'Van Hulthem', which see. See REFERENCES.Possibly two distint roses, a Gallica by Vibert (see 'Van Husson') and a later Hybrid Bourbon.

'Van Huyssum' in Sangerhausen seems to be mislabeled (recent pink-coloured addition).
