Description
Semi-double, large flowers open in shades of light pink. Three to four rows of broad outer petals surround a band of smaller inner segments, which grade narrower inward to a remnant of stamens and a pair of red tipped carpels in the center. The color is most saturated in the depths of the flower and lightens outward to tips of the petals. The pigmentation is more pronounced in cool spring weather. The plant is a strong grower in our Midwest climate and has a very satisfying plant habit. The bush is vigorous and dependable with ample color on a medium height bush. One flower per stem is presented a few inches above the foliage canopy. Strong stems are erect and self-supporting. The flowering stems typically do not require support under normal growing conditions. The bush is well-covered with medium green foliage. Leaflets remain green well into summer, apparently being somewhat resistant to leaf spot fungi and appear to be quite resistant to peony mildew here in Missouri. The flowers are an eye-catcher in the garden, making this variety an excellent choice for the sunny border.
