Class: Hybrid Kordesii, Shrub.   (Series: Explorer Series Collection)   
Bloom: Red.  Mild fragrance.  15 to 25 petals.  Average diameter 2.75".  Medium, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Pointed buds.   
Habit: Climbing, lax.  Glossy, dark green foliage.  
 Height: 5' to 6' (150 to 185cm).
 
Growing: USDA zone 3b and warmer.  Very hardy.  benefits from winter protection in colder climates.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant, susceptible to blackspot .   
Patents: United States - Patent No: PP 9,232  on  8 Aug 1995   VIEW USPTO PATENT Application No: 08/215,824  on  22 Mar 1994 Inventors: Svejda; Felicitas J. (Nepean, CA)...The new variety of shrub rose plant of the present invention was created by artificial pollination during 1981 at the Central Experimental Farm, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

 In September 1998, the Montreal Botanical Garden (Le Jardin Botanique de Montreal) carried out a survey of its roses' resistance to black spot, powdery mildew and rust. This is one of the outstanding varieties which showed a 0% to 5% infection rate. The data were taken on well-established roses.
 
 Arnold, Neville P,  Ogilvie, Ian S, & Richer, Mme. Claude selected this rose from seedlings bred by Dr. Felicitas Svejda); Confirmed by Felicitas Svejda as a cross between 2 breeding lines, both derived from R. kordesii, 'Red Dawn' and 'Suzanne';
