This flower looks correct in every detail except I never knew the flowers could fade to white! I have seen very pale pink, but not white.

In extremely brilliant sun and higher heat, such as what we endure here in the Southern California inland valleys, which ARE deserts, it fades to white very quickly.

October in Belgium is not so hot. I could not believe it myself and made a couple of photos. Maybe it has sported on this branch? Someone needs to check again this year.

Yes, it could have sported to something like Cl. Summer Snow (its white sport). I have grown the original, and both climbing and bush versions of Summer Snow here in the mid desert. With our climate here, I often saw little difference in the colors because of fading. One of the main reasons I didn't keep most English roses. All it took was one day of the laser beam sun and blast furnace heat and everything was beige.
