Look at the fall color of Rosa spinosissima/pimpinellifolia plena. I'm sure that one is quite easily available in North America. http://www.helpmefind.com/gardening/pl.php?n=22331&tab=1

There are many spiosissimas listed on sites I shop, but not as Rosa pimpinellifolia 'plena.' I will look into it further. Thank you!

Very nice plant with very nice fall coloured, shiny leaves. And offspring from Thérèse Bugnet; one of my favourites. It must be very winterhardy! It would be nice to have it in our garden, but it isn't for sale?

Thanks for your nice comments. :) The fall color is very similar to that of the (likely) pollen parent Rosa pimpinellifolia plena. There are many strains of that rose in different parts of the country with varying fall color, but at least this strain from northern Finland has nice burgundy color.
