I have this rose from seeds. Rosa brunonii. Bought them 4 years ago. Seeds are from U.K. South England. I have a second shrub also from seeds no flowers yet. bud with the same leaves. Are these hybrids ?? Maybe Rosa x montariosa ??

I got my seed in Yunnan and believe it to be R.brunonii, see my pictures as posted, often with wild collected seed there is a variation, so we probably both have R.brunonii. It is very admirable to grow your roses from seed as it takes a while before they flower.

The Mt Lofty Botanic Garden in South Australia grew many species roses from seed. Unfortunately this became a problem, as many of them sucker when grown on their own roots, and it became difficult to tell which plant belonged to which label. Eventually almost all were removed. A rose labelled R brunonii is still there, so I'm guessing it didn't sucker. www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=21.162544
