Established 1996 by Katsuhiko Maebara with a donation of 290 roses by Seizo Suzuki, enlarged in 2005 with donations of Odile Masquelier, Mr. & Mrs. Viruraghavan (gigantea hybrids), Mrs. Helga Brichet (chinas and gigantea hybrids), Vintage Gardens (heritage roses), Huaian Rose Garden (chinas and teas), Prof Yoshiro Ueda (species incl. R. chinensis spontanea) and Dr. Yuki Mikanagi (species roses).
