Dear Hannes
Thank you so much for your kindness. When my husband Filippo and me bought this piece of land in North Italy it was a Vineyard .Year after year we have turned it into a rose garden and now, after 35 years, we have over 400 varieties of roses . Not everyone loves roses but we think a garden is not a garden without roses , and if you have roses in your garden everyone looks only at them . I saw your pictures , you too have plenty of wonderful roses , sorry because you are a week-end gardener , but you live in a beautiful land where is not so hot like here in Italy, so I believe two days a week is enough to take care of them. Un caro saluto dall'italia Maddalena

What a lovely garden, and what a backdrop! My daughter and I were in Italy last year, and my favourite places were Umbria and the Dolomites.
