The British Flower Garden, 2d ser. Vol. III, 1835
(1835) Page(s) Plate 229. Includes photo(s). Rosa indica; var nivea White Noisette....2 to 3 feet high, sparingly armed with hooked prickles...Branches ..smooth and purplish. Leaflets from 5 to 7...tipt with dark-red gland...Footstalks and Rachis...pubescent and copiously furnished with stalked glands...Flowers copious, corymbose, snow-white...the out ones and buds of a deep red colour...we are indebted to Mr. Dennis, in whose nursery at Chelsea, it flowered in July last. It had been imported by him from France, under the name of Amie Vibert, and is doubtless, a hybrid production; most probably originated between Rosa indica and moschata. ...It is an extremely free flowerer, often bearing from 40 to 50 blossoms in a cluster....
