Weigand - Soden, i.e. a German, with the hybrid wichuraiana Ernst Grandpierre (1900), and since then came some very good varieties from fim, such as the magnificent Anna Rübsamen (1904), whitish pink, very long lasting, and 1906 and 1908 followed his Frau Albert Fischer, Marie Weinbach, Tricolore, carmine and flesh-pink, blooms in a cluster, occasionally also half-red and half-white in a bloom, and lastly, Frau Albert Hochstrasser which is listed as repeat-blooming (light silvery pink, in the colour of Tausendschön). The repeat is however not very good, i.e. not better than many others.

[From an Article by Stefan Olbrich, Zürich]...In Spring 1899, two magnificent hybrids of Rosa rugosa will be introduced into commerce by the Etablissement Otto Froebel in Zürich as novelties. These are cultivars of Dr. Müller in Weingarten...
Nr. II. A product of (Gloire de Dijon X Duc de Rohan (male) X Rugosa germanica (female). Very vigorous and repeating. Especially large blooms, up to 13 cm. in diameter, densely filled, of high domed form similar to a La France bloom, of deep, velvety pink and magnificent fragrance. The foliage is up to 18 cm. long, branches strongly armed with reddish prickles. This variety will place all Rugosa-Hybrids into the shade...
