(1950) Page(s) 21. Japanese Peonies Elma (Kelsey, 1936) Eacj $5.00 Japanese type. Pale pink changing to white. Guards very shapely, cupped and crimped. Staminodes long and yellow. Seed pods green, flecked pink at the tips. The striking characteristic of this Japanese variety is the cupped shaped guard petals which retain their shape until the bloom fades and the petals fall.
(1950) Page(s) 21. Japanese Peonies Filigree (Kelsey 1936). Each $4.00 Japanese type. Large, rose-pink staminodes, self color edged with straw color. A very striking plant, tall and vigorous. Early. Staminodes so full they almost cover the petals. Something off the beaten path.
(1950) Page(s) 22. Japanese Peonies Glowing Embers (Kelsey, 1936) Each $5.00 Japanese type. Early midseason. Rose color guards, lighter on edges. Self staminodes with a tiny spark of white on the tips. All one color except the tips of white. Guards crimped and cupped.

(1950) Page(s) 22. Japanese Peonies Goldfinch (Kelsey, 1936) Each $3.00 Japanese type. Pale pink guards with pale yellow center. One of the yellowest centers to be found in the garden. Feathers slightly. Flowers large. Shown on page 17, Bulletin No. 91, as a double, which is incorrect.
(1950) Page(s) 22. Japanese Peonies Harvest Moon (Kelsey, 1936) Each $3.00 A midseason Japanese variety that is somewhat similar to Shaylor's Sunburst. Cupped white guards and yellow staminodes. This is a very choice variety and blooms at the same time as Isani Gigui, which it closely resembles, with the exception that the cluster of staminodes of Harvest Moon are more compact. A great favorite, and rightly so.
(1950) Page(s) 22. Japanese Peonies Kagawa (Kelsey, 1935) Each $3.00 Japanese type. Dark rose pink. Guard petals pink, surrounding a ring of yellow staminodes, edged rose, which are also intermingled, and twisted with overlapping large petals of lighter pink. Early. Medium size.
