I REALLY appreciate your help. I am a new rose gardener in NW Ark. I am learning about appropriate pruning (I find it VERY hard to prune severly - but I guess you're 'spossed to'). Thank you for additional input.

Use the Search facility found in the Q&A Forum and the Ezine for additional information on pruning. The topic has been addressed before and I'm sure you'll find several useful posts.

Thank you for the specifics on when to stop deadheading. I have been thinking about this, wanting some hips but also not quite ready to stop hoping for more flowers. Live in zone 4, and I think I have to accept that rose season is coming to an end.
