Alfred James Fraser, who may have been responsible for breeding a number of the Bees Roses, was born on November 7th, 1915 at Hawerden, Flintshire. Hawerden being a small town that is 7 miles from Chester and in the 1939 census he is described as a nursery worker. He was to die in the Cheshire Hospital, Livetpool on November 6th, 1980.
