[From Les Amis des Roses, March-April 1939, p. 10:] Les roseraies de M. Heizmann à Vevey, en Suisse, au-dessus du lac de Genève, à quelques 16 kilomètres à l'Est de Lausanne, eurent ma visile en 1937. M. Heizmann est spécialisé dans les rouges. Lemania et Vainqueur, ses deux principales nouveautés, sont bien connues en France et en Suisse. ...Heizmann est en train de rénover certaines variétés qui avaient été délaissées en Suisse à la suite d'une multiplication exagérée.

[From Das kleine Rosenblatt, December 1961, p. 47:] Emil Heizmann + 1876-1949....Heizmann also excelled with his own cultivars: 1935 Giuseppe Motta (Exhibition in Bellinzona), 36 Lémania, 37 Ville de Saverne (International Exhibition), 43 Roseville, 44 Domina, 45 General Guisan, Lausanne and Vevey, 46 La Vaudoise, 48 Camélia..."

[From Rosa Helvetica, 1986, p. 41:] Emil Heizmann established 1908 a nursery in Männedorf (Canton Zürich) and began with the production of understock. Thanks to own seeding and oculation he also began breeding new rose varieties. In 1918, the company moved to Vevey (Canton Vaud). The company of Emil Heizmann, which his successors named Emil Heizmann & Co., developed to one of the leading Swiss rose growers of the era and was known in and outside the country under the name "Roseville"..A large number of own cultivars brought him national and international awards, e.g. Bern 1925, Bellinzona 1934, Bruxelles 1935, Saverne 1935, Paris 1937 (World Exhibition), 1939 Swiss National Exhibition in Zürich...
