Vincenzo Asseretto also won a Gold Medal at the 7th National Floricultural Exhibition held in Sanremo showing a sport of 'Gloria di Roma'. But what was it?

Do you have any approximate date of the 7th exhibition. I've had a brief search but nothing so far.

The name of this rose was Rosa Mamie http://www.helpmefind.com/gardening/l.php?l=2.66948 and was discovered by Vincenzo, son of Angelo Asseretto (see a previous comment for a short story of the Asseretto family).

Angelo Asseretto started his activity in Arma di Taggia in the lates 1800. In 1905 he bought some land in Sanremo (Capoverde-Madonna della Guardia) where he and his family were cultivating carnetions. In 1926 his son, Vincenzo, moved the firm (Via Asplanato Siccardi), close to the gardens of Villa Ormond. They cultivated and introduced some roses by Aicardi (Cristoforo Colombo, Principessa di Roma). They cultivated also roses by Sanremo Experimental Station (Giorgina). The firm was later (1973) run by Stefano Asseretto (son of Vincenzo) and now by his daughters (Grazia and Anna). The AG Sanremo Floroortoagricola is now specialized in succulents.
