So beautiful. What garden zone are you in? Also, what do feed your roses? They are so beautiful. I garden in Zone 5b, in NW Illinois, USA.

Hi bellarosa, I'm in 8a (Southwest of Germany) and do not feed my roses anything. I'm happy you like Mel's heritage :-)

Janine, you need to add a colour. Blush, light pink, seashell-pink?

Hey Patricia, I totally misssed your message and read it just now. Sorry!
Also I wanted to add the color but did not find the "color" section to fill in.
The color of the adult rose is a salmonish cream white with a hint of pink.

Beautiful rose! What garden Zone are you? I garden in Zone 5b in the Midwest part of the USA (Illinois, to be exact). I wonder if this rose is hardy...

Hello bellarosa,
I live in 8a (Southwest of Germany).
Last winter temperatures dropped to -18°C.
Mel's heritage survived.
But the summer was very, very dark, cool and moist.
And Mel's Heritage does not like moist at all
Therefore for the second time in about 10 years a very large Mel's Heritage is about to die in my garden.
Good thing I make cuttings every year.
Mel's heritage cuttings root very easily. And from now on I will only plant her in the hottest, sunniest, driest spots.
Hope this helps!
Kind regards from Germany
Janine

This rose would sell out within a week for ANY online vendor in North America.

I was thinking how lovely it was and wondering why it doesn't have a name!

I bought it from Bierkreek in the Netherlands.
There it is sold as "Golden Brown".
Maybe this helps.
Greetings from Germany

This is another rose which I asked not be distributed as we have no agreement as to terms.

Bierkreek has repeatedly proven themselves disreputable in terms of dealing with hybridizers.

Rose breeders beware unless you just don't care.

Oh no. I did not know about that. I am so sorry. I even allowed them to use the photos I took of this extra ordinary rose.

Janine, I'm glad you enjoy the rose.

The fault is not yours.

Unfortunately rose hybridizers have little recourse when our rights are violated, especially internationally.

I only posted as a warning to others who might have dealings with this company.

Patenting is expensive and rarely used now. It only makes sense when damages can be proven that warrant the cost of litigation.

Best wishes, Robert

Thank you, Robert.
I love this rose. It is very sad and shameful that you haven been treated this way.

In the big picture it doesn't amount to much.

I try to be a nice guy and expect the same in return. Sometimes it doesn't work out that way.

We all live and learn. Fortunately I've had some success here in the states.

Hopefully it stays that way. ;-)

Best wishes and happy roses. Robert
