Yes, this is listed in Flora of China and other botanical literature. It seems to me not very different than Rosa odorata var. odorata, except for smaller size, which could have been the high location. Have you ever seen a photo or a more recent description?

Sakuragasumi
There are two versions of Sakuragasumi, one is Floribuda and one Climbing.
You have one in HMF, it should be named as Climbing Sakuragasumi. It was bred by Sumi in Japan in 2001.
Sakuragasumi (Floribuda) was bred by Seizo Suzuki in 1990. Never mind, you have an entry for Sakura-Gasumi already.
