Today the sun rose early morn, in orange coloured light
With gloves on hand, I prepared myself for a stinging nettle fight
New roses, fresh with pearls of dawn, stood bare in soil of clay
And I sat down on my old bench, in wait of a beautiful day
The birds were singing songs of love, while feeding their offspring
Wood pigeons hopped from branch to branch, doing their own thing
Little wrens, blackbirds and larks were seeking food as well
In this, my favorite time of day, I simply enjoyed my roses' smell
Golden wings in full of bloom, Great Maiden's blush will follow soon
Guirlande d'Amour is spreading love, romantically in full of moon
Felicité et Perpétué is climbing my old apple tree
In just another day or so, she'll let her bloom amazing me
Don't know exactly how many roses are growing in my garden today
They come and go as each one pleases, seeking their own way
Some like the shadow, some like the sun, I love their fragrance sweet
I am a rose nut so to speak and my garden is far from neat
