la brea has nothing to do with the tar pits it's Irish for fine day. It was also a term used in my mothers village for a fop with dirty boots
I spent a lot of time in The Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden in the Bronx as a kid.
I have been a gardener at LaGuardia Corner Community Gardens for the last 27 Years.
