Beautiful rose, but I believe Cristophe Colomb should be indian orange, not pink.

No, sorry, definitely is Christophe Colomb. It starts out very bright orange when in bud, but ... unfortunately ... gets more pinky as it opens out. (Maybe the camera has added a bit here ...?) I am still looking for a rose that actually stays that same bright (deep) orange. There are a lot around that are paler, and I have seen roses in florists' that colour, but I haven't been able to get one myself yet.
By the way, Christophe Colomb is a very good rosebush. Lacks scent however. But very vigorous and easy-going, putting up with heat, drought, cold, etc.. Excellent as a cut flower, as I say elsewhere, I think.
Mine came directly from Meilland Richardier ... fifteen miles away from here. So no doubt, I don't think.

I absolutely believe you, and I thank you for all the details that convinced me to buy a Cristoforo Colombo just today :) Probably the camera and the light both played a serious role in this case, so I'm just editing my first post and removing the inaccurate tag.
Sorry for the noise, but thank you very much for all the nice informations.

you mentioned looking for a rose that help a deeper orange color - not fading to pinky shades.....I want you to check out this rose:
'Dolly's Forever Rose' Please follow the link below

This is a red/yellow bi-color actually but comes across as a strong, deep, gorgeous orange shade and really doesn't fade in the two gardens I have seen it in!! Just a thought...

Have a great day!

Thanks very much, Jamie! Looks like a nice one!
I have often seen florists' roses that are deep bright orange ... I'd really like a rose like that for cutting ... and with a great scent! Perhaps no hope ... (The florists' roses have no scent whatsoever ...)
