I started growing roses in 1998 when we lived near San Antonio TX, discovered Antique Rose Emporium and got the antique roses bug. My modest rose collection in Northern Alabama consists of both antiques and older moderns. I prefer repeat blooming varieties but have a weakness for one once-blooming rose, Village Maid, aka La Rubanee. I'm a member of the Huntsville-Twickenham Rose Society. In Feb. 2020 we moved into a house in a retirement community and I necessarily downsized. I now have about 30 roses, mostly minis in pots, a few larger roses in the ground. I remain interested in buying roses but with limited space won't do as much as previously.
