I am surprised by the ARS classification as mauve. This rose blooms in shades of very dark velvety red to a deep cool pink as this picture shows - in my climate.

One plant of 'White Mountains' in full bloom on June 21, 2021 on my property in Greenfield, Wisconsin (Milwaukee County). Completely winter hardy in zone 5a/b in a lowland floodplain setting. The plant is probably 20 feet wide.

I photographed this plant in Grendale, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwakee. Aluminum clothesline is inconspicuously attached to the building so that I could attach the plant. When grown in the open, this plant exhibits slight tip dieback over winter (in the 1970's).

Photo of bloom taken in early June, 2021 in Greendale, WI showing two plants reaching their peak of bloom. Both plants were hard hit by the late spring frosts of the spring of 2020 and are making an admirable comeback.
