West facing large planter box against stucco house. Grew from bare root and took off like mad, in middle of first blooms got a case of severe powdery mildew. On all leaves and bud stems and buds covered in white. Spraying aggressively now but sorry to say this is not what I expect from this winner. Will replace it next year. Next to it is a gorgeous Julia Child and sparcer blooming Fourth of July (not as showy as I had hoped).

Roses seem to react in different ways in different places. We have given away 'Schneewittchen' due to its weak vigour, but 'Schneewittchen Clg.' (or 'Iceberg Clg.') is quite satisfactory here, very vigorous, good rebloom, some blackspot later in the year.

I forgot to mention most importantly this is San Francisco so always cool, even foggy nights and even lots of cool foggy days, so that is probably a huge factor.
