What a superb photo that leaves a strong message. ie, If we humans do not get impatient and interfere un-necessarily, nature will do its jobs. I also do not spray and during past many years, not even a single bush out of my over 150 bushes have died due to pest attacks. Birds, bees, beneficial insects come and do their job. Thanks for sharing this fabulous photo.

The garden is doing well! And the view!
Something different than growing roses in pots.☺

Thanks Jay-Jay,
Its indeed pleasantly different from growing roses in pots. I never had so many blooms on my bushes....

In my view this is not Rosa moschata. Rosa moschata has white single flowers comprising 5 petals.

I believe this was Bella Donna that crept in. The Moschata label was finally taken away.

Two years later: The first seeds are germinating and seedlings pop-up! The seeds got one stratification period in the fridge and one... or more during this winter.

Jay-Jay, what kind of ambient temperatures are they germinating in now?

At that time during daylight about 15-18 degrees Celsius (at night - 2°C). Uncommonly warm for February. Now it's about 8°C during the day and night-temps are relatively high.
The other seedlings I posted are kept inside at approximately 15°C. After a stratification period in the fridge from 1-2 months at 1°C. I kept the seeds in moist coarse sand in plastic sandwich bags. Good luck Hubert with Your rare/uncommon hip of Maman Cochet!

Jay-Jay thanks. Yes, I was thinking of my Maman Cochet seeds. Those sort of daytime temperatures are more like our late autumn through winter here in Sydney. I think I should plan to plant them maybe April and hope they germinate through our winter.

At least give part of them a cold period in the fridge.

And did the seeds of Maman Cochet germinate Hubert?

Yes Jay-Jay, they did, and quite a good germination rate too but I lost many. I'll do an update in the Maman Cochet file.
