Hi Dee. My name is Clark. Just wanted to say hey. It's nice to see someone else with show roses on here. And what's more, someone who can really grow them well! Fantastic! Keep em coming!

Dee, I'm really enjoying your photos. I was under the impression roses don't do well in HA. You're certainly proving that wrong. Thanks for posting. Robert

Thanks Robert... but they do have to be sprayed or the bugs devour them in Hawaii. :-(

I've heard that can be a problem. I've also heard lighting at night helps for some reason?

Yes, lights help some. In this garden, I had 150w floodlights that went on at sunset and off at sunrise. Without spraying, the beetles still ate half the leaves.

Does this rose look more "deep pink" at other times of the year ?

Are you in Hawaii? If not, some roses have different colors in a tropical climate. If so, this is one that I didn't keep for long so don't remember if it changed color. I'm pretty sure it's Cynthia, though.

No, I live in the mountains of northern California. That's why I asked about the color rather than assuming that the photo might be inaccurate.

On second thought, I can't really say I'm sure it was Cynthia.. only that it was marked Cynthia when I bought it. But I can say that about a lot of roses.

Many of us can say the same thing.
