Making research for the rosepriest (german-american) "Father George Schoener", who was born at Steinach/ Germany (1864), emigrated in 1890 to U.S.A. and became priest (1892) around Pittsburgh PA. Since 1911 he started breeding roses and fruits at Brooks OR. Since 1917 he lived at Santa Barbara CA and had a famous Rose Garden with the "Avenue of The Roses". At last he lived at the University of Santa Clara (1939 - 1941), where he brought 5000 rose-bushes to. A motion picture was made in 1937 and shows his coal-black rose "Justive Oliver Wendell Holmes". In 2014 his 150th birthday was celebratetd at Steinach/Germany, Santa Barbara CA and Brooks OR.
