My mother had 1 hybrid tea rose that never grew taller than 2 feet. I learned later that our yard was too shaded for roses. However I used to sit by that rose just to smell it when I was young. Fast forward 30 years and I marry a gentleman who loved roses and began to purchase them for me; one for every year we were married. I had many more but as a lover of roses I often gave roses to my friends as a token of our close relationship. I have 16 roses currently. I have had more than 40 over the years. My personal favorites are Henry Fonda, Abraham Darby, and Paris D'Yves St. Laurent. I also have Climbing Mlle Cecille Brunner.
