I am looking for plants of really fragrant roses preferably with large blooms, floribunda (not hybrid as they would produce only 1-3 blooms per shaft). Fragrance, colours (non whites) and quantity blooms is required that I need for my devotional service if someone could please guide me few top names of varieties. Thanks

In ADVANCED SEARCH / CLASS select FLORIBUNDA, and in BLOOM, select large and under Fragrance, select strong. That will keep you happy in this cold winter. You don’t show what State in Australia you are in, but the best guide of all, will be your own nose in summer. Be aware that many floribundas are not fragrant.

Patricia, do you know if "Maggie" is available in Australia, and under which of its various name(s) it might be sold there?
I'm pretty sure it is often used in religious ceremonies because of its strong scent, but I don't know what its 'Aussie' name is... Might it still be sold as 'Eugénie Marlitt' or one of those similar names?
I know it isn't classed as a Floribunda, but it is cluster-flowered, which may be what is wanted?

It sounds ideal and I am sure it must have entered Australia at some time, but I have never seen any evidence of it here.

I tried to reply earlier, but apparently can't include web site links or my reply won't go through. So do an online search for the Rose Society of Victoria's web site, click on 'resources', then look at the list of 'recommended roses'. The list of recommended roses for Victoria does indicate which roses are considered fragrant with asterisks*.
Another web site to look at is called Heritage Roses in Australia...there might be some useful information there.
There is an old, fragrant rose that goes by different names in different countries (in the U.S., it's called "Maggie"), but it doesn't seem to be sold in Australia. I would also see if 'Gruss an Teplitz' might be available. I believe both roses are used for making attar of roses, and in religious ceremonies.
If you're a member of a religious congregation, could you perhaps ask for advice and/or cuttings from someone in that community?
Good luck!

I looked at Knight's Roses catalogue (they're in SA but will post roses). Not cheap, but floribunda roses which they class as strongly scented and are not yet sold out for this season are Bellissimo Mum (pink) and Ebb Tide (purple). Maybe others. (I haven't grown either of those because I only have room for heritage roses.)

Hi. Wonder if I could seek suggestions for names of some really good, colourful and certainly fragrant varieties of Roses. I need to buy good quantity of plants for devotional purposes but few hundred that I bought over past periods were said to be perfumed/fragrant but they have no smells. Need some good guidance. Thanks in advance.
