On David Austin's web site he has a rose called Ludlow Castle that comes up if you ask for white roses, but he never says anything about bloom size. I sometimes have found Austin roses' bloom size disappointingly small. No one else seems to carry this rose. You don't list it in your list of English Roses. Can anyone tell me how large a bloom Ludlow Castle has? Or, can anyone tell me of an ivory rose with English form and a really large bloom? Thank you! Phoebe Evans

Hello Phoebe, Marleen from Belgium again. You can also try the english rose (Austin) Glamish Castle; it's nearly white, with a light pink blush, and it has large flowers. Hoping to be of any help,

Hi Phoebe, I have the english rose Ludlow Castle growing in my garden in Belgium, It has pale yellow buds and when it opens it's nearly white. I don't find the flowers too small (10 cm.), but I think it depends on where it's growing.

thank you so much for your reply, i grew glamis castle in oregon, and i wonder if what the nursury sent me was not really glamis castle! what i had was nothing like what people describe, the flowers were absolutely snow white, small and shattered very easily. Not like any other Austin ive grown. ill try to see one in a garden and see if maybe i had the wrong rose. thank you so much for the info! --phoebe

Hi--just saw a Ludlow Castle on sale at Home Depot in Oregon. Blooms were large (four inches), very fragrant and beautiful with an almost centrafolia look.
