Mine doubled in size earlier in th eyear, and I had several nice blooms of amazing (and odd) anise scent. Since then, the plant has been devastated by rust. Looks like it will come back, though. Cool damp summer here in SF. Will probably keep it.

I put in 4 Star of Nile roses in June of 2005. They were small but bloomed nicely and steadily in the first season. They have survived a Colorado winter with haphazard winter protection, and now are showing lots of new basal shoots, and lovely mahogany colored leaves that turn to green. I did not see any disease last summer, although we get powdery mildew and many of my roses suffered from various leaf blights due to a cool and wet June.I will say the color is more of a bright pink, like John Cabot, but the scent is lovely and I have high hopes for this rose.

Frgrance is very light, verging on nonexistent. Dissappointing. But beautifully formed robust flowers.

after one year in the ground: no scent whatsoever ( I was misled). but a very nice purple/magenta color and will probably keep it. Here in San Francisco it suffered badly from rust.
