Sandy, you can search this site for answers to your specific questions or purchase a book. Ortho 'All About Roses' is a nice short choice with good information. There are many books on taking care of roses.

There are also Rose Forums, like Rosarianscorner.com, which are a wealth of information, including how to winter roses.
Good luck with your new rose.

This rose is very good for exhibition and for cutting to put in the vase. Perfect bloom form and exciting color that last forever. Just needs some scent to make it any better. My budded maiden last year, it was winter hardy on r. multiflora and pretty vigorous catching up to the Grade 1 bareroots with little trouble.
