I am looking for cuttings from the Gitte rose (Kordes). I would like to plant it in honor of my mother who has passed. Her name was Brigitta (German) and her nickname was Gitte. Please private message me if you have any cuttings or plants available. Thank you so much!

Hello Angie. My roses are all dormant at the moment and just coming out of winter. Feel free to ask again in June and I will look at the rose and evaluate whether I can spare any cuttings. Do you root your own? I get a lot of requests, so I will forget unless I hear from you again.

This is a beautiful rose with a lovely scent. I have been trying to share it to keep it from disappearing completely. It does get some blackspot on occasion.

Every time I walk out to view my garden and see this rose, my first thought is, "wow, what is that! "? And then I remember. It is a stunning garden rose.

How is the fragrance? HMF description says strong fragrance.

As with most roses it depends on the weather and factors I don't always under, but I would agree that in general it has a strong fragrance.

Excellent representation of the flower of Canary Diamond. This shows the color of the bloom in cooler weather when the color is a bit darker and it also shows the good petal arrangement and the nice high center these blooms can have. Sometimes the petals can get a bit muddled in the center but many times the centers are drilled perfectly. When all things are right, Canary Diamond blooms are the best yellow HT blooms in the garden.

I agree with that assessment. Canary Diamond has consistently great shape and color in my Idaho garden.
