I grew up in Kevelaer and want to let you know that it is on the "Lower Rhine" quite close to the Netherlands (Northrhine-Westfalia) and not situated in Rhineland-Palatine. Kevelaer is a prominent place of pilgrimage visited by more than 1 million pilgrims per year.
