Brent Dickerson presents a tremendous amount of information about the Old Roses and the people who bred them. Peter Beales, in his book, Visions of Roses, p. 37, says there were no less than thirty-six breeders who worked in and around Lyon, France, during the years 1840 to 1924. During that time, they introduced over 600 roses. He says this information is well documented in The Old Rose Advisor.
