Page 136: English Rose. Description. Unusual among English Roses in that it is the result of a cross between two Modern Roses… although both parents bear flowers similar to those of an Old Rose. Flowers: Old Rose formation, soft peachy-pink on the inside of the petals and a pale yellow on the outside... A strong and delicious fragrance. It is hardy, disease resistant and recurrent flowering.

Bourbon. Description. A good shrub which may also be grown as a Climber or pillar rose. Flowers: deep warm pink, fragrant. It flowers freely in early summer but there are only occasional blooms later. P. Lambert, 1920.

Almost single flowers of deep purple-crimson, golden stamens, thorny, about 4 feet in height, pale green foliage. Fragrant. Probably a Gallica/Centifolia cross. Vibert (France) 1839.

English Rose. Description. A good all-round garden rose. It flowers very freely and continuously. Flowers: deep apricot at the centre, paling to the outer edges of the flower. Height: 2 1/2 ft.
