Gloaming: Excellent growth, long shapely buds held on long, strong stems, opening to attractive blooms of soft salmon-pink and amber, and it is very fragrant.

Gloaming: Another variety not new and certainly not as well known, I think, as it should be. Growth is good, the colour is a nice shade of salmon-pink, and it has the spiral form of the Ophelia family. Has possibilities for either bunches or even exhibition.

C. C. Hillary. Hayward’s Heath; England’s Test Garden.
Gloaming is a well-shaped pink Rose which reminded me very much of Mrs. Henry Morse. Its colour, however, is deeper than that of the latter Rose, while its growth appeared to be more vigorous.

Gloaming (Nicolas, 1935) Plant Patent No. 137. A cut-flower variety which has proven a "winner" wherever grown. Its large, perfectly formed buds and flowers, carried on long, rigid stems, are amply clothed with handsome foliage. The bloom is of unusual coloring—fawn-orange in the bud, and the large, full blooms are a peculiar pink overlaid with salmon. The plant is vigorous and branching, and fairly tall growing. Each $1.25. Doz. $12.50.
Website/Catalog  (1938)  Page(s) 21.

Bush Roses
Gloaming (Hybrid Tea)... The general tone is salmon overcast with tawny orange and gold at the base and reverse of the petals. Its buds are carried on long rigid stems, bloom is very large, double and fragrant. A strong robust growing and long-lived plant. "Gloaming" has been well tested, and can be thoroughly relied on. Introduced 1936.

Nouveautés 1937 ... A. MEILLAND, rosiériste, Tassin-les-Lyon (Rhône)
Gloaming (Obt. J.-H. NICOLAS ; éd. Ets A. MEILLAND 1937).
