Introduced in United Kingdom by Benjamin R. Cant & Sons Ltd. in 1918 as 'Emily Gray'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1921 as 'Emily Gray'.

Class:

Hybrid Wichurana.

Bloom:

Golden-yellow to buff, salmon-yellow highlights, yellow stamens, ages to lighter . Moderate, tea fragrance. 25 petals. Average diameter 3.5". Medium to large, double (17-25 petals), in small clusters, cupped-to-flat, open bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.

Habit:

Tall, climbing. Large, glossy, bronze-green foliage.

Height: 14¾' to 16'5" (450 to 500cm). Width: up to 10' (up to 305cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for cut flower, garden or landscape. Very vigorous. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) . Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection). Prune after flowering is finished.
