Introduced in France by Roseraie de l'Hay in 1900 as 'Amélie Gravereaux'.
Introduced in France by Charles Pierre Marie Cochet-Cochet in 1903 as 'Amélie Gravereaux'.
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa.  
Bloom:
Dark purple.  Strong fragrance.  Medium to large, semi-double to double, in small clusters, flat bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Climbing.  Medium, wrinkled (rugose) foliage.  

Height: up to 5' (up to 150cm).  Width: up to 5' (up to 150cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4a through 5b.  Very vigorous.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Amélie Alice HenrietteGravereaux (May 16, 1885 Vitry-sur-Seine - February 14, 1960 Paris), youngest daughter of Jules Gravereaux and Laure Thuillier (see 'Madame Jules Gravereaux')
Most probably one of the seedlings bred by Dr. Müller before 1900 and introduced by Gravereaux.
