This rose is worth having for its health and the beauty of the bloom (see pic. of my 1st bloom in photos). My 1st bloom of Tchaikovsky after 1 month of purchase as own-root: The bloom is at least 4" big. Every bloom is perfect, no botrytis whatsoever. This is our wettest year, with months-long constant rain. I put gypsum, alfalfa hay, and wood chips to fix my heavy clay. The bush is 100% healthy, clean with shiny foliage. The fragrance is more noticeable with later blooms.

Very botrytis prone to me but can be easily forgiven because is a non stop blomer with good and strong fragance. A yolk yellow rose opening to butter yellow, not white or cream.

If not pruned the shrub works a little like a tea ending in a huge shrub wider than tall (about 2x3m, a single plant, and growing), with lethal very big and flat spines (not hooked). Green dark lustrous and dense foliage covering well the rosier.

Some rust and blackspot here and there, specially when tired to bloom, but brown moldy buds showing all around the rosier is its main problem by difference. It reclaims a lot of space so place carefully.

Flowers are big but clustered. Take this in mind if you are looking for long stemmed solitary roses. In the other hand this rose is good for short bouquets.

This is an outstanding rose. Mine is own-root, zone 5 winter hardy, disease free, constant bloom.
