I'm trying to identify an HT rose similar to PB but in a slightly deeper orange-pink.
At 5 feet tall, the mature, leggy plant was growing against a South-facing shed in Norfolk, UK in the year 2014. The lightweight, colourfast, almost lantern-shaped blooms were borne on 5-7 inch, very slim, green peduncles mostly singularly but also in 2s and 3s, lined up along a thick, moderately prickly stem. Only 4 inches wide by the same tall, they kept their spiralling folded and reflexed form - not flattening out into discs of wavy petals (unlike the blooms of 'Duke of Windsor' for example) and lasted 5-8 days from the cut.
When placed in a vase overnight, the scent production was off the charts, of strawberry, raspberry, a hint of lime but zero spice. When I descended our stairs halfway down, the aroma greeted me - from behind a closed door and two rooms away where the pair of blooms stood upon a table in the morning sun.
I invite readers to suggest what rose it might have been....?
