Dos anyone know if Junie Burn's roses are being sold anywhere? I looked through her list of plants introduced. I particularly liked 'Burlesque', Sister Sharon' and 'Sweet Obsession'.

HI,

I am looking for a supplier for Hunter Rugosa red roses. Heirloom Roses has them but they are not in stock yet. The reason I want Hunter Rugosa is that they are purported to be deer resistant. Does anyone know of a supplier for these roses? Any suggestions for roses that are deer resistant would also be welcome.

Thank you,
Scott

Your member page only says that you live in the U.S. If you had shown the State, perhaps others could have helped you.
However, have you looked under the rose 'Hunter' / Buy From / and viewed all nurseries?

This message is for Lyn, because the system won't let me do another private message today:

I may have spoken too soon. I just checked Alden Lane's website, and I no longer see Secret listed -- just Secret's Out. The last time I looked there and consciously noticed, they still had Secret, so it didn't occur to me they might have discontinued it in the interim.

However, another possible source for Secret would be Regan Nursery in Fremont, CA. I do still see it listed on their website. You can buy it at the nursery if you're in this area -- or, I believe they sell roses by mail-order in early spring.

Thank you, Carolyn. I'll keep that in mind for next year.

Does anyone in Australia know if you can still buy the rose Delore? I bought one from Treloars a few years ago but they are not growing them any more, have searched all of the catalogues I can find but still not having any luck finding it. Thanks Ang

Bring up the Delore page on HMF..click on the discoverer's name..then it brings you to a new page....on the top of that new page it allows you to send him a private email..why not ask him directly, he may be able to solve your problem.

Welcome Ang.
I don't think Mr. Stratford, the discoverer (and distributor?) has email. But I have added his phone and address to his page. As he named 'Delore' after his wife, I am sure he will be able to help you. If he can't, let me know and I may be able to post you cuttings. It is a superb rose and I am so fond of it.

Please also see the HOW DO I... button for instructions on adding this rose to your HMF Wish List. That way we'll contact you if and when we find an appropriate source as well as let site guests know we are looking for one.
