I have two Bourbon "climbers", I realize these aren't true climbers but they're in dire need of pruning and since they will bloom in new growth I'm hoping someone will tell me I can prune them vigorously. I live in Eugene, Oregon which is zone 8. We're having a severe cold spell for this country but I intend to prune in late January or eraly February. The roses are Mm. Isaac Periere and Mm. Ernest Calvert. It's a beautiful combination even as there bloom time doesn't exactly coincide. I'm sure I overfertilized and I 'll try to use some restrait this year. They've been in the ground since '04. I'd love some input on the pruning and fertilizing too. Betty
