Our Waiheke is doing wonderfully well. This early spring, the leaves are the most vibrant maroon color, and the plant is growing well again after pruning in late winter. Our hot, dry summers seem to be perfect for Waiheke. We had never heard of this rose before we purchased it last year in a discount "body bag" group. Having nothing to go on except the picture on the wrapper, we decided to give it a try. For $3.99, who could resist? So far, it has more than paid us back with many lovely blooms and a very interesting, fairly light, fragrance. Try it out if you can find it!
